The Video Cat rental catalog available at https://www.videocat.ca/catalog/ provides a snapshot of all media available to rent as of the date specified at the top of the page, in this case February 11, 2024.
From the catalog page, you can perform a variety of title, format (DVD, blu-ray), genre, and “shelf” based searches. At this time search does not support actor, keyword, or director unless a dedicated shelf exists.
The simplest search is performed using 1 or more words from the video’s title, for example “cat”. Press the “magnifying glass” button to trigger the search:
If there are a very large number of matches, a “paging” system provides buttons immediately following the search results, allowing you to move back and forth through the titles. Here is an example of paging buttons from the very large comedy category:
For more fine-grained searches, you can click on the “Advanced Filters” bar. For example, if we are only interested in blu-ray classics, we can select the appropriate options and then click the magnifying glass to explore what’s available.
Or if we want even more fine-grained searching, we can explore specific shelves that existing within a category, for example, the Canada category’s David Cronenberg collection.
Optionally, provide specific title words to narrow your results down farther.
